Empecé a fotografiar a mi madre coincidiendo con mi emancipación personal, hacer fotos era una forma nueva de diálogo entre los dos libre de la jerarquía madre-hijo. Con el paso del tiempo ver a mi madre desde esta nueva perspectiva, desprovista de su rango, que no de mi afecto, me ha ayudado en la tarea de comprenderla e interpretarla.

I began picturing my mother by the time of my personal emancipation. To take pictures of her was a sort of a new dialog scenario free of the mother-son hierarchy. Seeing my mother without her authority but still with my affection has been very helpful to understand her.
